As soon as summer starts creeping in, one question always comes up. How much water should you actually be drinking?

You’ve probably seen the usual advice. Two litres a day, eight glasses, all that. It’s a decent baseline, but it doesn’t really reflect real life, especially during a UK summer.

The simple answer is you probably need more than you think.

When the temperature goes up, even slightly, your body loses more water through sweat without you really noticing. Add in things like walking more, workouts, or even just sitting in the sun, and your hydration needs go up quickly.

For most people, around 2 to 3 litres a day is a good target in summer. If you’re active, training, or spending a lot of time outdoors, it can easily be more.

The issue is not knowing the number. It’s actually sticking to it.

Most people don’t drink enough because it’s inconvenient. You forget, your drink gets warm, or you just don’t have anything nearby.

That’s why having a proper reusable water bottle makes such a difference.

If your water stays cold and it’s always within reach, you naturally drink more without thinking about it. No tracking, no forcing it, it just becomes part of your day.

A 1 litre insulated water bottle makes it even easier. Fill it up a couple of times and you’re already hitting a solid level of hydration without overcomplicating anything.

It’s also worth paying attention to simple signs. If you’re feeling tired, getting headaches, or your energy dips in the afternoon, there’s a good chance you’re just dehydrated.

Same goes for darker urine or feeling unusually sluggish in the heat.

With summer coming up, hydration is one of those things that’s easy to overlook but makes a noticeable difference. Better energy, better focus, and you just feel a bit more like yourself.

Nothing extreme. Just keeping cold water nearby and actually drinking it.
